BOS Timbers is a wholesale timber merchant, specialising in the import of superior quality hardwoods from North America, Africa and the East. We supply both rough sawn timber and value added products such as solid wood decking, engineered flooring and solid wood tops.

BOS Timbers was established in 2012 by founding partners, Hein Smit and Carel Botha. With extensive knowledge and experience in timber trading and sales, Carel Botha leads our sales team, which is well-equipped to take advantage of fluctuations in different markets to the benefit of our customers.  We focus on long-term relations with both customers and suppliers, relying on building a relationship of trust. Hein Smit is our Head of Operations, focusing on manufacturing and delivering quality value added products to our customers. With an engineering degree and post graduate qualifications in Wood Science, Hein’s technical and scientific knowledge of timber is an invaluable asset to the company.

We are committed to sourcing wood from suppliers who adhere to responsible harvesting. This means that a constant supply of wood is provided, with future timber yields being unaffected by the current harvesting methods.

We serve a wide range of industries, spanning from furniture manufacturers, shop fitters, joineries, interior designers and construction companies. Based in Johannesburg, we serve our local and international market alike. We maintain high stock levels, to ensure availability of different species, dimensions and grades.
